On this date in 1942, Sgt. Edward T. French was in 2nd General Field Hospital  recovering from wounds when he and 24 other patients were killed by an Allied shell. The Japanese had positioned their guns in the middle of the hospital complex, forcing the situation that occurred – friendly fire on a hospital. Sgt. French  is buried in the Manila American Cemetery.

Pvt. Bruce

Pvt. Miller survived the Death March, the Capas Boxcars, POW camps, a hell ship voyage and slave labor in Japan. He died in Sedalia, Kentucky on this date in 1982.
