On 9 April 2019, the 77th Day of Valor (Bataan Day) was celebrated in Chicago by the Consulate General of the Philippines, members of the Filipino American Community in the Chicago area, U.S. military officers, surviving World War II veterans, and members of various U.S. veterans organizations to include representatives from the Maywood Bataan Day Organization (MBDO). The commemoration started at 9:00 a.m. with a wreath laying ceremony at the Bataan-Corregidor Memorial Bridge at the corner of State Street and Wacker Drive led by Consul General Gina Jamoralin and Mr. Dominador Ramirez, WWII Filipino veterans. This was followed by the official program at the Philippine Consulate.
