On this date in 1942, PFC Frank A. Byars (HQ C0) was killed in action on Bataan while delivering messages as a motorcycle messenger. He is listed as “missing in action” at Manila American Cemetery.

Pvt. Wilbur E. Linse
On this date in 1957, Pvt. Wilbur E. Linse (MD) died in Chicago, Illinois. He was held in various POW camps in the Philippines, survived the Hell Ship Noto Maru and slave labor at a Japanese mine.
