Something made me recall the memory of Lucille Wallingsford Sylvester. In 2008, Pastor Eliot Winbush told us the story of how Lucille, living in Maywood during WWII, was inspired by the epic heroism of the men of the 192nd Tank Battalion to write a tribute to those men. Lucille, born in 1917, was 91 when she performed her song live for us at Bataan Day 2008.
Lucille passed away in 2015, at the age of 98. Remember her today as you listen to Pastor Winbush share her story and then join her in singing this wonderful song.
God bless and keep you, Lucille. And may God bless all of those who remember the heroes of Bataan and Corregidor!
