Col. McMahon received the following urgent request for assistance from Linda Anderson:

We are Linda and Dave Anderson from El Paso Texas.

We are hosting what is called the Mukden Reunion. 2 of these guys were on the Bataan Death March and 2 defended Corregidor til it was surrendered. These gentlemen were all in the same Japanese prison camp called Mukden. Located in Manchuria China. They spent 3 and 1/2 years in confinement, most of the time was spent at Mukden.

Each year a POW or a descendant would host this reunion. Since El Paso is a military town we will be staying on Fort Bliss. It is  a very large army base in the middle of the city. We have planed tours and things to honor the men. The 19th of September is National POW/MIA DAY. Since it falls on a Saturday Fort Bliss will hold a ceremony on Friday the 18th of September to honor the 4 POWs from the Mukden pow camp.

It is truly an honor for us to have the privilege of hosting this event since it is their 70th year of freedom and also the end of WWII.

The event will be held from September 15-20, 2015.

Thanks,
Linda and Dave Anderson
