Pvt. Frederick G. Schweinsberg (HQ)
Pvt. Frederick G. Schweinsberg was the first member of the 192nd to die on the Death March. He was part of a group of POWs that were used as human shields against artillery fire at Capcaban by the Japanese. His remains were recovered after the war, but could not be positively ID’ed. He is buried among the unknown at the Manila American Cemetery.
