This past Sunday, we lost a great man in Maywood, Leon Conner, 96, a veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Conner, who died in the Vietnam war in 1966. His beloved wife Odie, his daughter, Alva (Cheryl), and his son, Maywood Mayor Ralph Conner, passed away in 2010. Leon is survived by three of his daughters, Joy, Marilyn, and Melody.
Leon Conner was always involved in his community, and as part of that vocation, he served as a Director of the Maywood Bataan Day Organization for some time, and later was made an Honorary Director of the MBDO in recognition of his service.
We honor his service and join his family and friends in mourning the loss.

Funeral services will take place at Second Baptist Church, 436 S. 14th Avenue, Maywood, on Saturday, October 18th.
Family Reflection: 10 AM to 11 AM.
Memorial Service: 11 Am to 12 PM.
Repast will follow the memorial service in the church basement.
Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois.
