Statement by MBDO President Col. Richard A. McMahon, Jr. on the occasion of the 2014 Bataan Day Observance at Camp O’Donnell in the Philippines:
Commander John Gilbert, Sr. Vice Commander Carl Burke, on behalf of the Maywood (IL) Bataan Day Organization and the survivors and families of the 192nd Tank Battalion we represent, our deepest appreciation for VFW Post 2485, Angeles City, Philippines, continuing their tradition of an annual Bataan Death March Observance at Camp O’Donnell, Capas National Shrine.
The Observance yesterday, April 26th, involving newly organized, Boy Scout Troop 485, Angeles City, was very well done. You’re teaching the Scouts about this WWII tragedy in our military history.
My personal thanks, for inviting me and providing my transportation.
Col. Richard A. McMahon, Jr.
Pres., Maywood Bataan Day Organization
