Just received the following note from Nancy Martin, daughter of PVT William Hauser, Co. B, who passed away in 1983.
I am a volunteer with Honor Flight Chicago. We are looking for any WWII vets that have not had the opportunity to take the Honor Flight to Washington DC for a special day to honor them. Do you know of any vets that might be interested in this opportunity? It is totally free to the veteran. It is amazing! If you have not heard of this, I highly encourage you to check it out. Please let me know if you know of anybody. We will be happy to contact them and help them through the process. We have done 51 flights so far. We will start up again in the spring of 2014. My father, Bill Hauser, was a part of the Maywood 192nd tank battalion. Unfortunately I really never fully appreciated his act of heroism for our country. He died many years ago. I am involved in Honor Flight out of respect for his service and for all the other heroes of that war.
Sincerely, Nancy Hauser Martin
If you are interested in the Honor Flight and would like more information, please let me know and I will forward Nancy’s contact information to you.
Thank you for sharing Nancy, this is a great program!
