Here’s a real find. I believe this poster was given to the Maywood Bataan Day Organization by Jesse Jones. He’s a repeat donor, having also given us the great video footage from the 1980 Bataan Day Parade, which you cna find here.
A couple reminders – first of all, if YOU have any memorabilia from Bataan Day, from photos, to other items, we’d love to see it or even have it donated. We have made arrangements with the Pritzker Museum to donate our archives to them for archiving and display.
And secondly, and coincidentally — Maywood Bataan Day is on the SAME day this year as the date in this poster — September 14th. Of course, there is no parade, and no Pageant of Drums, but admission is free to the Maywood Bataan Day Memorial service at 3pm. Won’t you join us?
